Crit While You’re Ahead is a Black-owned blog about Dungeons and Dragons and other TTRPGs.

My name is Nigel and I’m a young, Black, and talented D&D player and Dungeon Master. I’ve been in the hobby for a little over four years now, so I’m still getting my feet wet, but I’m excited to be here, thanks for having me.

Currently I am running three games of Dungeons and Dragons 5th edition as well as playing in a D&D 5e game, a Pathfinder 1e game, and a game of Cyberpunk Red.

My hope is that I can use this space to document my experiences with the TTRPGs, both as a player and a Game Master, and to share my best and worst ideas with anyone who’ll listen. That might include homebrew projects, in-character essays, campaign diaries, house-rules, hot-takes, and who knows what else.

Whatever this ends up being, I hope you enjoy your time on my site. I’m just out here having fun!
